House by the brook, Maria Gugging NÖ
Wooden construction prize of Lower Austria 2000
1st Prize, residential building category
The long structure is parallel to the water. The covered entrance and garage establish a private garden area, which is accessible freely. The barriers between private and publicity were thought through. The goal was to signalize hospitality but also privacy.
Heating / Cooling concept:
The supply air is directed by means of a pipeline under the earth. Thus, cold air is preheated in the winter and hot air from outside is cooled down by the time it reaches the rooms during hot summer days.
