House for the Constructer
Gießhüblerstraße 27, Maria Enzersdorf
The essential aspect was the wish for “clarity in construction” at the beginning of the project, when no materials had been appointed yet. The simpler the house got, the more wooden construction seemed to be the optimal solution.
Heating, ventilation and cooling
To minimize energy demand a 50 m pipeline was placed in the ground. That way, fresh air is cooled during summer and preheated during winter. The air is routed through the pressed loam walls which are warmed by the sun and then let out at the top of the dining room.
