It began with the invitation of a building contractor to develop an alternative program for a controversial project which had already been submittet to the authorities for a construction permit.
Due to the difficult basic conditions we were very fascinated by the project. A 20m deep block and our wish to “equip” each apartment with a south-oriented area. Because of the building authorities’ requirement regarding fire protection, we were unable to construct the house mostly in timber. At the end the attic walls were covered by wood.
